6/11/2018 0 Comments Faith to Move MountainsWhen I was picking out backgrounds for Sunday’s song slides I felt the need to have a mountain theme for the whole set. Then while worshiping Sunday and seeing those backgrounds I kept thinking about faith. Four times in scripture it talks about having faith to move mountains.
The first being Matthew 17:20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. ” Then Matthew and Mark both give this account Matthew 21:21 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. Mark 11:23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Finally you got Paul saying this in 1 Corinthians 13:2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. I feel like when God has something repeated several times in the Bible we need to really pay attention to it. It must be important to repeat. From a human point of view the idea of being able to move a whole mountain seems ludicrous. It would physically be impossible to do in the natural. But to God moving a mountain wouldn’t take any effort really at all. I believe He uses such an extreme example to make us realize that anything is possible with Him. So no matter how small or big a mountain (problem, situation, or etc.) is in your life, God is bigger than it! Remain faithful in Him, His promises, and His timing!

But 11 years ago this month we decided we wanted to have a child. During our journey to have kids we lost three children, I nearly died from female complications, got a vision from God, had some dark moments but decided to stand in faith on the promises God gave us. Six years after the start of our journey our huge blessing of twelve pounds nine ounces was born after eighteen hours of labor and emergency c-section. I am here to say God is a loving and faithful God! If He promises something He will fulfill that promise. There may be dark days you want to give up and feel like it will never happen but DON’T give up stand fast to His promises. Get scriptures that apply to your situation and pray/meditate on them constantly. During my dark hours that’s what I did and still do.

Writer StephanieIf it wasn't for God I would not be here. Seems cliche but it's the complete truth. I have come close to death a few times, I am a living testimony to God. I am far from perfect. I don't have all the answers. I do feel like God wants me to share words of encouragement and share the testimonies (stories) of my life. I pray that all that read what I write are encouraged and empowered to not give up, no matter what this life throws at you, and to seek God for wisdom. Archives
